Who we are

Smart Geeks is an independently owned and operated electronics repair and buy-sell-trade business located at #2 13018 84 Ave, Surrey, BC V3W 1L2. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by any device manufacturer.

Diagnostics before repair

We diagnose a device before recommending or beginning repair work and communicate our findings to you first. See our Diagnostic Policy for details.

No guaranteed outcome

Electronics repair, and chip-level board repair in particular, cannot be guaranteed to succeed in every case. Some devices, especially those with severe corrosion or board damage, may not be economically repairable. We will tell you if that's the case rather than continuing to bill for further attempts.

Your data and backups

You're responsible for backing up your data before dropping off a device wherever that's possible. Some repairs, particularly those involving storage components, carry a risk to data that we cannot eliminate. We do not access personal files beyond what's needed to diagnose or verify a repair.

Devices left with us

Please remove or back up personal data you're not comfortable with us encountering during testing. Devices should be picked up within a reasonable time after we notify you that work is complete; contact us if you need more time.

Buy-sell-trade transactions

Offers made for buying or trading a device are based on an in-person assessment and are not binding until both parties agree. We may decline to purchase or accept a trade-in for any device.

Pricing

We do not publish a fixed price list because cost depends on the device, the fault, and parts required. Pricing is communicated to you after diagnostics and before repair work begins.

Website use

This website is provided for informational purposes about our services. Content is original to Smart Geeks; device and manufacturer names referenced are trademarks of their respective owners, used only to identify compatible services.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Smart Geeks' liability in connection with a repair or transaction is limited to the amount paid for that specific service. We are not liable for data loss, indirect, or consequential damages arising from a repair, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page.
